Discussion on the board about subscriptions

http://discussionboard.prostores.com/showthread.php?t=5485&highlight=recurring+billing

Is it possible to do a one time bill for a subscription that doesn't necessarily fit a single monthly, quarterly, yearly billing cycle?

The recurring billing feature in ProStores is built to perform a recurring billing of the defined service or product every month, quarter, or yearly. There is no mechanism to have 4 months billed up front (skipping the second, third and fourth months billing).

Could you do the same thing for a 3 month subscription for $19.95, BUT I don't want to use the term quarter/ly, I want the 3 month/ly verbage through the storefront etc. and only billed one time upfront for all 3 months.

For a three month period, the subscription product would be configured as a quarterly subscription, then each quarter the recurring billing service would charge the defined amount for that service / product. If the issue is simply the text of the attribute, you would have to do some hard coding of the resolved SSML (HTML) to post the appropriate attribute ID with a displayed name of 3 Months...

Does ProStores system initiate an invoice/CC transaction for active subscriptions with a price of $0? Thus I would get charged the eMerchant per transaction fee? OR does it ignore these $0 priced invoices and simple mark them as expired when the time comes?

The date displayed in the next billing field will be based upong the subscription period. If the product is defined as monthly, then the subscription date will be a month from the last billing date. If the amount due is $0.00, no payment transaction requests are performed.
